My Dad was a Primary flight Instructor during WW2 and the PT 19 was what he flew. My Uncle had one for a while in the 80's in which I got a few rides. My CAF Squadron has a PT-26 which is a 19 with a canopy

Hey I think we can comply, it's a fun little bird to paint, as seen by some quick experimenting... this is just a quickie that I think I'll wrap up in no time a'tall... had this much done before even loading it up for it's first flight

Here is a line up of PT's at TRARON which the Desert Squadron hosts before the CAF Airshow
Instrument panel of the real thing taken on a flight to Monahans for a flyin Breakfast
The Desert Squadrons PT-26 & L-5 Stinson
IF ya'll want a better sound I got one from here. It's not a Ranger engine but sounds better that the one that came with the DL. Search Sound for Gypsy Major.

This is a fun and easy bird to paint. I'm gonna do a quick series of about 3 different colors in a golden-age-era racing scheme with scallops a'la GeeBee sty'le, then one or two more, a JG300 one and a Com-C one, haven't made up my mind as to particulars for those but have some ideas (suggestions always welcomed). After that...the paint shop will have been fully warmed up.
Still doing some tweaks on the general layout but here's the first, more complete version, getting some tune-up attention outside the shop in preparation for the big race...
Thanks again for the Heads-Up, TPet!
