...BTW, I just noticed the Tenere is a parallel twin, not a V. Ugggh.

Then, there's always an upgrade to the daily driver:

www.ford.com/cars/must...ustomizer/

Remember the GT model is now 400 H.P. standard (likely a response to competition from Dodge and Chevy).

...or you could just buy a Roush 351 crate motor. Pretty much the same horsepower, but $18,000.

Being the understated kind of guy I am (no "boy racer" graphics), this is what I came up with, though I didn't care for the selection of wheels they offered. I prefer the dull TorqThrust look.

Wow - hey that customizer is a pretty cool tool, some nice lookin' machines you guys are building there! Fled I dig the hood pins! (hope you don't mind but I resized your pic so we don't have to scroll side-to-side to read our posts here)

Ascout you and I are of the exact same mind when it comes to wheels...I do have an appreciation for the Cragar S/S look too, but I gotta wonder, what's up with all these bling-ish wheels they've got?

Meet ya at the strip with this'n... (seems we like the same front fascia)

Now I have a confession to make...a couple of months ago, back around the time we had another Moostang thread in the Officer's Club, I did visit our Ford dealer and test drove a 5.0 GT. Since we've bought 3 new vehicles from them in the last 9 years I didn't feel guilty about taking a car off their lot for a little fun and lighting up the tires. Which, with the increased leverage of the 6-speed trans and the aforementioned 400HP, was ridiculously easy to do. Basically, not so much smoke-on-demand as it was wheel-hop on demand....lots of chatter from the P-Zeros in the back whenever you got too lively. I didn't see an easy way to turn off traction control, and my saleskid along for the drive feigned ignorance as to where the button was. Other than that he was pretty cool and didn't mind me taking it out for an extended romping.

Bottom line, they've made refinements in civility that take some of the rough edge off the additional 100HP, such that you feel like it's really only 50HP more. Made some changes to the interior that took away some of the things I like about mine (like those ultra-cool round air vents that are so easily and infinitely adjustable). And the one they let me drive and were trying to sell me on had all that faux-boy-racer plastic cr@p on it....non-functional hood scoop....non-functional side scoop for the brakes....plastic vents on the rear quarter window to make it look like an old-school plain-Jane mustang from the 60's (back then, guys paid extra to get the Shelby-style GT windows and yank out the vents). Rear window louvers. And, it was quieter than my Mustang with Flowmasters on it. Where's the visceral fun in that? Good news, they fixed the shifter, the stock version is now much shorter throw like the Hursts we put in, but also very smooth too.

If I don't have one already, the standard 5.0 GT would be a contender but I have to say I was more than happy to get back in my "old" '05 GT.

So while we're bench-racing, I'm thinking, someday, Edelbrock E-Force supercharger: +166HP to the rear wheels, and a heck of a great warranty as well. Best of both worlds, an sexy supercharger whine to boot Smile

Good news on the V-Strom front, the Big Guy is back in the lineup for 2012 (funny how some dealers have a way of not mentioning bikes they don't have in stock):

www.suzukicycles.com/P...=dualsport

...but that being said I'm perfectly content with my "little" 650 (that does the 1/4-mile in mid-12's) ... having put about 22K on the clock commuting in D.C. traffic pretty much year-round now, I don't ever want to own another bike without ABS, which the liter-bike doesn't have. If they upgrade it, I'm definitely game though!

Which is kind of the thing with the Yammy Super Ten, I'm reading some amazing things about the capabilities of the traction control system. Personally I'm less concerned about how the power is made than I am about how well it's put to the ground. But have you heard of Triumph's new 1200cc Adventure bike? Has a sexy inline triple that sings a siren song, I hear...

But honestly I'm about as much in the market for another bike as I am for another 'Stang. Perfectly content with what I have now and would be foolish to change right when I've got everything dialed in the way I like it but..like women...dammit it's fun to keep looking at 'em isn't it!?

Go figure - as nauseating as I tried to make it, I like the fuel door the least....Moostang fuel doors belong on the back of the car where they put the faux gas cap instead, if'n anyone asks me...

So OK here's a Boss 302 with stripe delete and a more subdued sleeper look...or maybe I made a Bullit clone, I dunno...but I like it....can't say no to the shaker hood scoop and hood pins though, guess it's a compromise to the stealth approach....hey, you said to have fun! Razz

I sneer at your pathetic under-developed sense of tastelessness. This is a design for the ages. Probably ought be the default exterior package.

Hooooo-EEEEEE!!!!! She's a runner, all right! Looks totally ready to take on the oval dirt track at the county fairgrounds!

Salesman, know thy market!

I 'specially like the roof and hey, speaking of which, I didn't see a "General Lee" option for the top?? Oops, wrong manufacturer....

My porn star girlfriend said she didn't care for the black and could I have the guys at West Coast Customs so something a little more "girlie". Here's what they proposed.

Oh, but with angora seats and dash, ostrich skin headliner, and deep orange shag pile carpet for the floor. And a 2.4 megawatt sound system with six bazooka woofers so it can make just as much of a statement with your eyes closed as open.
