Looking for the definitive final word on this issue if possible. Was the turret of the AEC Mk III armoured car (also fitted on Lebanese Staghounds) the same as that fitted on the Cromwell tank minus the bolted on applique armour> Some sources suggest that it was a turret that only looked similar, which seems to be a lot of work for the same purpose. No - the Staghound turret was narrower and had a bustle on the rear.

I'm not asling about the original Staghound turret, but the AEC mk III turret which looks similar, if it isn't the same as fitted on the Cromwell tank, and also on a number of Lebanese Staghounds.

Did you actually look at that image?

Both the Staghound & AEC III turrets had a bustle on the rear though the AEC version had a slightly shorter one.
