From which country is this T-72 and what is the meaning of the triangle on the right side of the number. Is this a unit sign like NATO has (tankbat/infbat etc) or something else.

Picture is taken by, and from J.Caddo

TIA,
Lesley

That's the T-72M1 sitting at the Military Museums in Calgary; I believe it was a former East German vehicle, nothing I can tell you about the marking though...wondered myself.

If it is the one from Calgary, then it is a former DDR T-72. I drove this beast for 45mins. Liked the aggressive gear to weight ratio and would pop a wheelie when punched into gear, and I almost drove into a parked cargo truck......LOL
