It's surprising to me that while the US shipped all but ~90 of the 3,427 M3A3s overseas the majority of the survivors are here.

do you have a date of manufacture for M3A3 SN 12862 please? I would like to tell the owner when his tank was built.

SN 12862 was probably built in July 1943. The corresponding RN is 3028071.

Any information on SN 10673. That is the SN if the M3A3 currently at Ft Benning, that used to be here.

It seems that Wheatcroft has the UK's only example.


Indeed, it used to be owned by Nigel Hay - see chrisshillito.tripod.c.../index.htm for some pictures.

British-Indian troops occupied the Dutch East Indies after the Japanese surrender. Much of their equipment was handed over to the Dutch forces who took over control of the country. After the fight for Indonesian independecy, the Dutch forces in their turn handed over much of their equipment to the Indonesian forces.
