#1: Fort Miles dedicates 16-inch gun Author: Rick_Eshleman, Location: Lewes, Delaware, USAPosted: Sat Apr 28, 2012 7:21 pm ---- I toured the restored Battery 519 bunker today and can say it is worthwhile for artillery enthusiasts. There is a 12-inch gun emplaced in the bunker, inert charges and shells. At over 300' plus various storage rooms, I was impressed with the efforts to restore this historic site. The 16-inch gun was brought from VA and was mounted on the Missouri battle ship. It is the next item to be restored. There were many reenactors German, British and American with various trucks , motorcycle (German BMW) and half tracks M3 and an OT 810 simulating a German SdKfz 251.
