Just ran into this:

Source: www.flickr.com/photos/...ong/page4/
It appears to be an M48A5 chassis - note 5 return rollers - topped with a 2S3 surrogate target.
More photos of the static target:

Does anyone have more to add?

The caption of the M48A5 based 2S3 over on Flickr says this was a film prop vehicle, but it looks more like a US military OPFOR vehicle. I am assuming the driver's position is still up front. Anyway, it's a great photo thanks for the link!

Chris.

You are welcome.
As for its purpose, I postulated about potential OPFOR use when I commented on the photo in Flickr. And you're probably right about the driver's position. I mean, they wouldn't go to the trouble of modifying the Patton hull just to have the driver facing the "right" (for the 2S3) direction.
