Got this in an email today:

"Paul Allen’s Flying Heritage Collection (FHC) is pleased to announce the construction of a new “tank arena” at Paine Field, the first of its kind in North America.

The final stages of demolition will ceremoniously be capped with the Collection’s WWII M4A1 Sherman Tank knocking over one of the last standing walls of the building previously located on the new arena site at 10am January 15, 2014.

The arena will be an open-to-the-public venue for the operation of FHC’s collection of armored military vehicles, notably at FHC’s annual Tankfest Northwest on Memorial Day coming May 26, 2014."

hello,

I wonder what is the "FHC's collection of armored military vehicles", other than what is displayed now.. and with the Collings foundation taking over 1/3 of the Littlefield collection, it seems that tank museums and "Tanfests" in the US are now run by warbirds museums...
