Yeah, that's the ONE thing that ours had in common with this build. Laughing

Think of the rude surprises you could dispense if you kept the looks "close to stock". Twisted Evil

No doubt why they didn't even touch the hood. Smile Can only imagine the traction problems they run into though!

I'm going to read up on the engine build as time allows. I was expecting an OHC engine like based on the new 5.0 Coyote, not a pushrod Windsor variant of some kind.

I suspect that's market-driven. If you want a breathed-on Coyote, you can always go to Jack Roush. Retro-FE's are more attractive to Cobra and Shelby tribute cars..and who's got a quarter-to-half mil for an original Boss 429? Ford isn't making the engine, so you gotta' go to the specialists.

That said, Roush offers some bitchin' modern FE's....some of which found their way into Leno's machines (the Seven Litre Galaxie leaps to mind).

P.S. I'm scheduling my SRT "Driving Experience" track day at VIR tomorrow for either the July or Sept. slot (I was too late for last year, and it's included with the car)

...and no, you don't use your own car. Wink

Coyote, eh?

$18K is not cheap, but it's 600HP with a two year warranty. And the usual formula is an engine is roughly 40% of a cars cost of production/sale, so that's not off base for what you get. Wink
