Hi All,

We’ve added a gallery of photos from the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, ON. Lots of very cool stuff to see with many sole survivors of type and rare prototypes.

As I note in the description, the gallery functions mostly as an archive as the museum has reorganized and the AFVs and artifacts on display have changed. We hope to get back there and do a photo shoot of the latest iteration, but for now.......

I received this information on the CWM's Jagdpanther today from my friend at the museum:

"The museum's Jagdpanzer IV (V) is a final production model produced in early 1945. It was originally captured by 4th Canadian Armoured Division near Wilhelmshaven, Germany in May 1945. It was later recovered by Captain Farley Mowat on behalf of the Canadian War Museum. It was displayed at the Royal Canadian Artillery Museum in Shilo, Manitoba before being transferred to Ottawa."

Thought it might be of interest.

Cheers,
VB

Quoting from the Canada AFV register:
"One of four “war trophy” Shermans brought back from Europe after World War II, along with “Bomb” (Sherbrooke), “Cathy” (Trois-Rivieres), and “Holy Roller” (London). Formerly on display outside Cartier Square Drill Hall as a monument to the 21st Canadian Armoured Regiment (Governor General's Foot Guards). Has WD CT228619."

This is Forceful (III) when it was outside. I couldn't remember the dent, but a close look at the print it's visible; the painted over graffiti kind of camouflages it.

Great photos, really need to get to Ottawa and see the Museum.
