Hello everyone, any ideas on what this piece might be, looking at drain pipe in background I think small bore, maybe 47mm or so? Thanks a lot

It reminds me of some Hotchkiss 47mm or 57mm pieces. But I am just wild guessing

Thanks everyone for assisting on this, no wonder we couldn't figure it out, 2.24in, 6pdr, 57mm
As near as we can tell its one of kind, 6pdr Balloon Gun Model of 1910 Tube number 1, Carriage number 1 headed out to see it in September

I searched for 1910 balloon gun and got a citation from a 1911 Army-Navy Gazette listing ongoing projects and procurements. One was the 1910 carriage at RIA.

Where is this beast now?
