The Marine Corps Mechanized Museum has acquired an M48A1 with Bulldozer. There are some great pictures of how the bulldozer is mounted to these old gasser flat deck Pattons. Also of interest is how the .50 cal mount is stowed on the turret when it’s removed from the early Chrysler cupola: www.themech.org/vehicl...zer-blade/

Any idea where it has been hiding for all these years if they just acquired it?

If I had to guess it was out on a range somewhere.

Did not find correct topic, but -
It is well known about appliqué armor tested on M48A2 with glass inserts (1955).

Also there weremore effective appliqué armor inserts with cells (circle, hexagonal, square were tested) filled with resin like material also tested on M48A2 (1959). Strange that this idea did not enter service, or further development, as it was an effective against CE rounds.
Pity that no other photos except from Hunnicutt book preserved.
