This helmet belongs to the Fort Irwin museum. I'm trying to identify it for them. This white helmet has the following numbers on it;
-Cushion Earphone MX-2088/U
- Microphone M-33A/AIC
- Headset Electrical H-75C/A/C and U-93A/U (this plugs into back of helmet.
- Sheild cover says Gentex / Large
I am familiar with the "P"-series helmets (P-1 thru P-4B) but not this helmet. I have a P-1B thats modified to P3 statndards that my dad gave me. Its dated 1954 if I remeber correctly. However this helmet is new to me. Any help would be appriciated.

I think her exact words were "what the hell are your doing??" and then unrestrained laughter for what seemed like an eternity...

These helmets were used in the 60's. My Uncle was in the U.S.A.F. during that time and I suppose the helmet is from that period..

This is my P1-B helmet that was modified to P3 standards, via the addition of the tinted visor. The helmet shell has the original tag inside with a date of March 1954. My father gave me this helmet to use as my first motorcycle helmet back in 1977. Then I painted it yellow and had some crazy radio station sticker on the back of it. Those Captain bars were the actual ones on it when he gave it to me. How he got it, I'm not sure. I was able to research it easy enough but this white flight helmet I posted I cant find.
The other itmes beside the helmet are the horizon ball from the instruments of an F-105D that crashed on Ft Irwin back on 11 Feb 1964. I visited the site and found all sorts of parts, large and small. I contacted the USAF historical research agancy and they sent me the complete accident report. I contacted members of the flight which originated out of George AFB, CA. Blah Blah Blah, thats another story entirely, and its what got my juices flowing on research into military vehicles, helicopters and air craft.
But back to the white helmet, what is it exactly!!!
