...Stoopy in San Diego:

..........uhhhh...wait, that isn't it....that's from a few years ago at home....

Aha! Stoopy celebrates at the home of the JG300 Weapons Officer:

...and check out JG300-Fr8ycat who came on down for the occasion...

Beer was drunk, fried onion rings were tested at Outback, lies were told, and a pact was made for a special video to be made. Coppola is shakin' in his boots.... Wink

You'll recall he said he was "on call". I guess your time is not your own when you carry the burden of his responsibility.... Sad

(I really think his travel budget should allow for somewhat better accomodations, though....)

Hey Dudes!!

DAMN what a photogenic bunch!!!

Was freakin' GREAT meetin' my fellow Wild Saus and stinkin' up Herr Ascout's pad (sorry about the mishap on your leather couch or have you found that yet??)

Sorry I couldn't join ya's for more horsin' around today but there was some more work to be done it turns out, and I barely made my flight. So now that I'm back home in Virginny I have lots of good memories to dwell on while I go sit out on the porch and enjoy the comforts of my porcelain throne (hey how'd you get that picture!!)

It may be just as well, or you'd have had to vent your indignation at what Richard and I revealed was a totally fake bf-109 at the museum! I was looking at it from the rear and thought the wings had WAY too much dihedral, and Richard caught the painted-on lines at what should have been gaps between the elevators and stabilizer, etc. Closer examination revealed the whole thing is likely wood and plaster construction (and not a rivet on it).

I'm just glad Herr Oberst didn't see it or we might have had a real scene on our hands....

Makes sense. They obviously couldn't find a Sau to park the real thing and nobody had the balls to try so they settled for a replica. Laughing

Got this shot of Ascout showing the proper technique to fixed wing flight. Should have seen the line of kids crying, waiting for their turn.

Hey, the sign said "You must be this tall to get on this ride." I exceeded it by a factor of two. If those kids don't have the moxie to elbow their way to the front, screw 'em! Twisted Evil

That's the way!!! Squeeze into that cockpit and get a deathgrip on th'stick, show them lil' tykes how it's really done!!!! ROFL!

Guys....no-ay the eak-lay on the ake-fay esserchmitt-may.....if y'all will remember, some time ago, back in our WEC days, we were runnin' short on '109 airframe parts n'stuff......and somehow the situation was resolved with no harm done to the JG300 budget with the exception of some missing plywood and paint, and a truck rental for a coupla days. That still remains one of our greatest coups, and the curators are still none the wiser, so sssshhhhh!!!!! Laughing

That's just an example of total concentration.

Hey, we wouldn't said nuttin' if we'd known about the, uhhh...other thing. How about the squadron S4 brief us on these irregular channels of supply beforehand so nobody let's the cat outtathebag?!

Two words....plausible deniability!

I figured some sharp eyes would notice the marks on the beam above where the hoist and come-along where mounted, or maybe the dent on the wing of that P-51 from where Hoppa dropped the boltcutters (tense moment when we figured the alarm would go off!!).

All I can say is, if the museum's gonna have a skylight, they should lock the windows on it!!
