My parents are seriously considering buying a new computer. Please give any suggestions for a new system to run IL2

Depends of course on what they are prepared to spend. You can get a good entry level gaming PC for around $1000.00. CDN .
My recommendation would be a dual core processor,2gb ram and an NVIDIA 7 series GPU. I will list what I have and know that it runs IL2 in perfect mode........PERFECTLY!

MB..........MSI K8N SLI w/HT
CPU........AMD 3800+X2 (dual core)
GPU........Nvidia geforce 7600GT oc 256mb x1
RAM........1gb
HD..........250gb
PS...........450W

I got this rig in April this year for 1200 bucks. you can build it way cheaper now that the 8000 series video cards have driven down the price on the 7000 series cards. Its a good entry level gaming PC.

GOOD LUCK!

Pentium D 940 3.2GHz
256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
320GB Performance RAID 0 (2 x 160GB SATA 3Gb/s HDDs)
Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ XtremeMusic (D), w/Dolby® Digital 5.1

IL2+AEP+PF works like a charm. I mean it is really an incredible game with this rig!

Yep, this is probably a great build to go off of. Just get the 2GB of RAM and you'll be pretty much set. Basicly, anything you get is going to be at least 2x better than what you have now, so you really have nothing to lose.

check these guys out. I am too lazy to build and they are reasonable in their pricing (my opinion).
