Rolling Eyes

Ok, it's this time of year where the Elfs and other caracters start doing stuff you mostly don't want to know about! Laughing

To give the matter at hand a lil twist, we have cooked up a package for fsX that contains the Lockheed L-049 Constellation for testing purposes only.

for that I need a few Guinnee piggies (no offence ment to our piggie friends from JG300, just a form of expression) to test if this contraption we cooked up will do what we think it should do in fsX.

Interrested parties can PM me for a link to the goodies.

p.s. file size is approx. 68 mB

I'll be hearing from ya ............... or not ! Laughing

I've been a fan of this Connie since its haydays. It's simply the best! It is a shame that it doesn't have a V/C but the realistic 2D panel makes up for this.
Now I of course installed it in FSX; Iam well aware of its flaws (Iam very greatful to all those involved in bringing it on to FSX) The side views??

Another thing I noticed is the fact that the new light effects (stobes to be exact) has an influence on all other strobes in FSX. they blick histerically!

I am not a developer nor do I wish to offend anybody. Just, I installed it and have noticed this. I wonder (seek advice) how to repair it so all strobes light in the right frequency.

Hi Bernardo,

As we are all learning as we go with fsX, as far as I could detect this is a lil issue in the xml coding, we are aware of the lil glitch and are looking for a workaround on it.
it's still early days yet to say we have licked the problem, same applies for the sideviews, still some oddities in fsX on wich I and others just can put the finger on right now.

Thankx for the feedback and stay tuned to this channel Wink

By the way how do I get smilies? Smile Never mind, foundout

12.1.07: After a bad driver day yesterday I decided to uninstall everything, it took me 15 hours Rolling Eyes My elbows still hurt of sitting too much in front of puter. Seems like the latest Nvidia driver, although it states it's good for my card GE Force FX5600 XT driver 93.71_forceware_win2K_international desagrees with my machine, and I got into all kinds of trouble, Got double wings on the 747-400 That, alone that made me go back to my old driver and solved the problem; Even my issues with the beacon lights blincking too fast dessapeared, Played a bit with the graphics settings and even improved my FPS; and now I am more satisfied IT'S THE WEEKEND

I finally got some testing in myself. Fled, you've got a PM with details.

Minor flaws I can live with, and I never much liked side views anyway. Matter of fact, I usually delete them.

I even spotted wingtiip vortices while watching a replay of my (rough) landing, then looked back into the aircraft.cfg and saw no mention of them. I'm guessing they're automatic on anything that meets the right condtions?

I too, noticed the vortices yesterday while on outside view, they look great.

After having lost my flame effects and later finding the right folder Wink As I mention in the above post, about the drivers (at least on my system).

Hi Tom,

The missing right side pan view is something we've noticed too and the odd thing is, the same file shows fine in FS9...lol We're still looking into that issue. Overall, the Connie ported fine and is a fine aircraft, although, FSX does seem to warrant a VC.

berlopez, glad you got some issues sorted!! I know what you mean about watching the computer as it reloads the OS and I think everyone here wishes they had a 'dollar' for every time they saw the 'install' screen...lol

FSX doesn't use the 2D side panel views even when provided and in 2D view mode. What it does instead is use the VC side view, even in 2D view mode. Yes I know that sounds bizarre, but apparently it is true, there was a very heated debate about this being a good vs. bad thing on one of the developer forums when FSX first rolled out.

So the bummer is, things get wunky when you're dealing with an FS9 aircraft that has no VC provided.

And yup, wingtip vortices are automatic now.....kinda neat. Although in my own observation you have to yank the plane a bit to create them, so I hope the Connie is stocked with plenty of barf bags for the pax if you're generating those vortex trails! Laughing

Thanks for the head's up Stoopy and it's too bad there's no VC with the Connie. Perhaps someone will take on that challenge as time goes by... Wink

Neutral A Dollar? Where do you live? I'll give you Two.

Indeed the Connie is one of the most beautiful plane ever made freeware for FS. The loss of John Howard White really hit us all, He'll be greatly missed. Unfortunatelly, he never finished the v/c for it. Don't even know if he even got started, at all. At the FSDZINGS.com forum nobody mentions the v/c.Don't know if it was dropped. I understand that making a v/c requires making a whole new model of the plane, Why? Please don't ask me. Sad Indeed it would be great if someone who knows and has the ressourses can develop it, Whom ever this may be they're going to need a lot of help. And I am no good at this, Don't have the experience or knowledge

I didn't catch the reading at the moment, but I suspect it was only about 1.5 G's. I had to pull the nose up to bleed speed before I could get the flaps out, then drop back to something close to a normal approach. I've also seen them for an extended time when I took the default 747 westbound from KLAX with a full load. The angle of attack at lower altitude and speed was apparently enough to activate the effect.

Hey, berlopez,

case you meet Marvin, please send him my best wishes for the New Year!

We were used to be in touch now and then, time ago, but two Xmases ago my system collapsed, I lost my e-mail address-book, and couldn't write him anymore.

So please remind him of me.
Thank you very much!

Marco
