ya know,,,,the sad thing is a couple years a go I bought my wife a 2000 mustang coupe,,,,she liked it for a while but has recently come to the conclusion that it has no gadgets for her and she finds it boring..........I offered to switch it over to one of these new ones...(also for my benefit).....and she has no interest in it,,,,,,,,,sad ...very sad........
I think she is leaning towards something with lotsa doodads in it......to my horror I mentioned that the Lexus has a navigation system in it and her eyes lit right up........does this mean I wont be able to retire till I'm 90 now........who has some good ideas on a nice sedan with lotsa gizmo's that wont put me in the poorhouse ???????.....

I am glad to see ford coming around to what MOPAR has been doing the past few years, bringing back the muscle car. Finally some competition. Mr. Green

Two words, dude: TEST DRIVE! (and let her drive first)
Besides, gizmos and gadgets are only cool for the first month or two then you pretty-much leave'em alone.

Grab one of her favorite CD's and be sure to drive a Mustang that has the Shaker500 sound system. Crank the volume and let the car do the talkin! hehehe

I got lucky. My wife is a Muscle Car nut and when she saw the new Mustangs it was time to trade in the mini-van (kids are older now). I tried to talk her out of it with the "It's not practical. . . you'll wish it wasn't your everyday car in time. . . . it'll suck in the snow" speech. But she bought one anyway and I have to admit. . . the little silver car has grown on me. (this officially makes my wife cooler than me)
Makes me feel like I'm 20-something again. Surprised

A few days ago, we were at a stop-light and a yellow pickup-truck pulls up on my left and I hear a horn toot. I look over and see a young man making the 'Roll yer winder down' gesture, so I oblige. With a grin on his face he shouts, "HEY, I BUILD THOSE UP IN FLAT ROCK. HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?" I smiled back and assured him that we loved it [the car] and to keep up the great work!
I looked to my wife and said, "Now that's encouraging...the man takes pride in his work....I'll bet he worked on this one! lol"

Take a test-drive, Hoppa!

well,,,,,,looks like a new car is not in the picture right now anyways,,,and prolly not for a few years at least,,,tomorrow we make an offer on our (hopefully new house), so I guess the ol' chevy 4x and the wifes little stang will just have to do for now,,,,,,,but yeah,,,,,,have always been a firm believer in a thourough test drive,,,,,I once test drove a camaro and for some strange reason I dont think that salesman ever wanted to see my face again,,,,,,,do they hafta pay for the tires when a prospective client eats up a couple months wortha rubber in less than a half-hour??????????

If it loses nothing in translation to production, this should bury even a "stock" Boss 429 by .5 seconds minimum in every test of acceleration. I WANT this car (and I've owned a 427!).

My much-beloved 95 Chevy truck has served over 10 years and has over 146,000 miles and the wife is making noises about when I'm going to replace it and with what. We went out for lunch and some car-browsing today and after looking over a few (a Subaru Legacy GT I wanted to see and really liked, and a well-known Germancar that I came away unimpressed with), she mentioned this machine.....my first car was a '66 Mustang Fastback and I could write a book about fond memories and adventures in it.

These '05s are incredibly sexy in my opinion and I have been salivating over them becuase of the similarities to my old '66 Fastback, but I was skeptical about a few things, like comfort and quality. Long story short is after seeing, sitting, and firing one up, it came up the winner of the day. We shall see!

BUT even better, if that Shelby coming out next year still isnt enough, check this out...chances are you already know about the car but the story is fun reading, and be sure to play the video link at the bottom of the page......sure love the way it starts off - smoke'em if ya got'em!!!!!

yea I like the new Mustangs too. As stoopy said it looks like the old fastbacks and they were beautiful looking cars. Also that GT looks absolutely awesome.

Well Aristaeus's truck photo caught my eye. The day after Christmas (knew the deals would be ripe) I went out and got myself a 2004 F150 Super cab FX4 4X4.

Beautiful truck, until.......3 events came into play.
1. the 19 MPG (highway) on the sticker was about what I was getting in my Ranger 4X4. Ended up being 16MPG.
2. Gas prices went up.
3. The storms we had this winter closed the canyon (until December) that I usually drove to get to Interstate 5, so now I am driving an extra 40 miles round trip (ontop of the usual 110 miles).

Last month I sat down and realized I was spending $380 a month or better in gas, so my new "commuter" is a Honda civic coupe VP. Never thought I'd live to see myself driving a Honda Rolling Eyes but I have to admit for the money it's a nice little car and I gotta love the 40 MPG.

I'm not crazy, I still have the truck Cool it's just been reassigned to recreational use.
