#1: Fort Jackson SC Armor - Flamethrower Sherman, M41, M46, M5.. Author: Neil_Baumgardner, Location: Arlington, VAPosted: Sat May 19, 2007 8:10 pm ---- First off the M4A1E13 Sherman flamethrower
Couldnt find a serial number, except where someone else had tried to find one by scraping the paint off a rear tow lug LOL
Here's the story behind the tank - its not quite the only one of its kind, there's another M4A1E13 in the LST Building at Fot Knox.
And a pic of the Jackson T30 for good measure

Author: Neil_Baumgardner, Location: Arlington, VAPosted: Sun May 20, 2007 8:53 pm ---- I stopped by Camden Military Academy on my way back to find an empty pad where the M60 apparently used to be. I was told that a few years ago the board of trustees - of the Camden MILITARY Academy - decided it was "too military" and gave it back to the SC ARNG.

Nice looking 'Lingle'! Looks like it is not missing anything off the outside. Wonder how bad the inside looks?

For all you CIA guys, check out the three black vents below the red switchs. Anyone care to guess what that is? (Note: if you saw the Gunny on Mail Call, you can not answer!)

#12: Re: Fort Jackson SC Armor - Flamethrower Sherman, M41, M46, M5.. Author: Neil_Baumgardner, Location: Arlington, VAPosted: Mon May 21, 2007 12:58 pm ---- I've discovered/realized that M46s are relatively rare - just five in the US:
Fort Dix, NJ
Fort Jackson, SC
Fort Knox, KY
Fort Leonard Wood, MO
Northlake, IL
There used to be another on in Etters PA, current status/location unknown...
Here's another of the Fort Jackson example (SN 1169 - a pretty high number actually).
