Hello,

I need your help to determine which tanks were used to make these reproductions of Panzer IIs and Panzer IIIs, apparently in Russia.

First Panzer III :

Panzer II :

Tiger I (most probably a T-55 tank..)

The panzer III might be based on the Frog missle launcher chassis. The road wheels on the Panzer II seem so familar but I just can't put my finger on it right now

The TI looks like a Russian T-34 or T-55 just by the spacing of the road wheels and the pattern on the tracks.

The only one I can say for certain, is the Tiger. It's based on a T62 hull. You can tell from the cooling fan bulge on the rear wall. The Pz II could be off a SU-57 and the second Pz III looks like it could be off a SU-76 or something from that family. These guys have gone a long way to convert road wheels, drive sprockets, and wheel spacing to try to get a panzer.

"First Panzer III" seems to be built on ISU or SCUD TEL chassis I guess.

"Another Panzer III" sporting number 623 is a look-alike mount on BMP chassis... DEFINITELY.
Tracks are not original - they look to be odd to me.

Sure is. I knew that drive spocket and idler looked familiar. I'll bet the tracks are off a SU76.

I would say "Panzer II" could be built on a heavily modified chassis of GT-SM tracked ATV - at least roadwheels and idler look pretty same, drive sprocket looks strange to me.

Just for comparison: forum.valka.cz/viewtop.../SOV-GT-SM

Pierre-Olivier,

the first Pz. III is actually based on a postwar Swiss [!] "Panzer 61" ! It's one of two such conversions done for the movie "Enemy at the Gates". (Read also here !)

Hope this helps!

Very clever! I hadn't seen this little fella before. If it followed me home after school, I WOULD definately keep it.
