JS-1 85mm in action?

I must have 4 or 5 books by Steve Zaloga that state that the JS-1 w/85mm gun was built but never saw action - they were "rearmed with 122s before being issued". I've never seen anything to contradict this until I saw the latest issue of After The Battle magazine which described the battle for the Dukla pass in October 1944. It had this picture.
Am I mistaken or is the tank on the right a JS-1 armed with an 85mm gun?

It is indeed an IS-1. Apparently the 12th Guards Tank Bde had some. There was a discussion about this on Missing-Lynx last week:
