Taranov, what is the small artillery piece being towed in the third picture? Thats the second one I have seen and frankly I'm not familiar with it.

That is 2B9 (to be read as 2V9) Vasiljok 82 mm automatic mortar.
Rate of fire 40-60 rounds p.min., 4 rounds "mag" fired in 2 (tac-tac-tac-tac) sec.
Able to engage targets by direct/undirect fire.

My platoon had a motto "What We Do Not Understand - We Destroy" and the optional "If Violence Will Not Do The Trick - Apply More Violence" ... so a sledgehammer did come in handy at all times Smile
