Tank Hunting, 2 Sep 07
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

OK, so I went out today looking for some of the previously unknown buggers from AJ2's TACOM list.

M59 155mm gun (apparently missed the 'tanks only' edit), Union (TWP) PA, near New Castle. This is on Municipal Drive at the Township building, between PA 60/US 422, US 224, and Business US 422. It is in pretty good shape and includes an M5 limber. S/N 2035, 1945. (I'd like to get the arty info as well, if possible.)

M60A1 105mm tank, Meadville PA. This is at the post as noted on the list, 1081 Morgan Village Rd. It is a true M60A1, S/N 7817, JJ00T7.

M5 37mm tank, Conneaut Lake PA. The VFW listed actually has a Linesville mailing address. The post is on Gehrton Rd. The have no tank, never did have one, and don't know of any in the area.

M114 CRV, Farrell PA. It is at the post as noted on the list, 613 Broadway Ave. S/N 471 (left), 472 (right) under lift lugs. Could not find anything ar front because surfboard was down. Somebody (Toadman?) needs to compare the L/R rear markings with the dataplate to see which is the S/N and which is the (?) build number. (This I actually knew about before.)

I'm off Friday so if I get a chance I'll check Steubenville OH and Canton OH.

BTW, the M60A3 in Hollidaysburg PA is S/N 3027. I gould not get any further info because of heavy paint.

So No A suffix on the S/N?

I dunno, I can't say for certain. Like I said, the paint was really thick.
