The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: 8 M60 Galleries

Hi All,

In an effort to make faster progress in posting AFV locations, we are trying out a bare bones approach to the more common AFVs. The galleries will each contain a documentation photo and detail photos of important info. If you’d like more photos or different angles, let us know.

Without further ado --

Memorial Park - Clarksburg, OH - M60A3 - SN 838 (new build), RN JJ03QB - RN listed in registry as JJ030B - appears to be JJ03QB - see photo below - or is it a European style 0 with slash?

For some reason the Smugmug photo links don't work correctly on this gallery, so I haven't posted teasers. Sad

Derp, I'm the source for the SN 838 being RN JJ030B, and on looking at my photos again it is in fact a Q!

Thanks for the galleries! My girlfriend's grandparents lived in Chillicothe, and when her grandfather told me they had a Sherman sitting outside the high school I was intrigued. Turns out it was an M60A3 of course, but it was worth the trip to see it.

For what it's worth, the high school is built on the site of former Camp Sherman, whence the mascot name was derived. Smile

They do better on their banners:
