The Fort Knox Renault's in Afghanistan
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

russian DUKWs?


Yes. The cargo bed in the Russian version goes all the way to the rear of the vehicle with a tail gate. The cargo bed of the US version stop about even with the rear set of tires and there is a rear deck on the same level as the sideboards.

Boy would I love to go exploring in that junk yard!

I dont think that museum exists anymore - or has for many years...

Last picture I saw - on the old board unfortunately - it was in that Kabul scrapyard... I'll try to find it again, but wasnt able to last time I looked...

My guess is it's the one that was laying on it's side.

Look very closely at the area just in front of and in back of the FT17. It is setting on the cargo bed of a truck. The cab of the truck is to the right of the FT17. It's hard to see, but that luckly FT17 is on it's way out of that junk yard.
