Dodge in Schaffhausen
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

During my visit to the museum I saw this vehicle inside a garage. Some old guys are restoring it. It looks like a Dodge to me, can you identify the correct model?
The restoration crew was unable to help me because they only speak german.

Thanks

Massimo

Massimo,
That's a pretty solid looking WC63 should be an easy restoration for them.
It looks to have quite a few European modifications. It's probably ex German or Austrian.
Here are a couple of shots of my 1943 WC62.

There is a winch on the front of the vehicle, which would make that a WC-63.

Yes, that would make it a WC63.

The old guys keep working on this. Here is how it look one month ago:

They keep using their vintage mobile workshop for the restoration

Most people involved in the project could be easily classified as vintage too Laughing

The WC-63 is running again. It still require some extra work here and there, but it looks fine already. I watched its official rollout last Saturday:

Nice video, Massimo. Is it taken with your Canon SLR?

BTW, didn't they demonstrate how the bridge is released?

Greetings
Chris

PS That's how the Dodge looked like at the beginning of May.

Yes, it's taken with the Canon 5D Mk III. The video quality is good because the hardware allows it, but videos just aren't my cup of tea. I just add titles to a bunch of clips, I don't have the inclination to do more than that.

No, I guess we have to wait and watch that in Full beginning next month Smile

Massimo,

Are they really painted grey, or is that just the lighting and camera?

They are really grey. It's the color used while they served in the Swiss Army
