The Netherlands AFV Registers
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

good thing the seller put an card on it with an description Laughing
At first glance it it looked like an pile of rust, nothing like Panther shell's

I visited the website of this group and apparently they find good looking stuf also

Most likely only for their private collection

According to the site of the Army museum in Delft their Chaffee is not a NLD army. There are two pictures on their site, one with ALS, a number and a date and another picture of (probably) a casting number.

Anyone who can shed a light on this?

Picture ALS:

And in streetview I found at the Staman location an Russian SU
Could some one tell me, what type it is: SU-85 or SU-100

If some one wants to check, search for the following at google maps:

For the people interested in Overloon, an newsflash from the 2nd of july 2010

The Dutch ministry of defence has transferred a Sherman tank to the municipality Boxmeer (Overloon is part of this). The Sherman will be placed in Overloon as a monument to the 7th U.S. Armoured Division

The vehicle has been a shooting range target at Oldebroek.
The tank is still in reasonable condition and will be restored in the coming months.

The Sherman will be placed at the Museumplein in Overloon besides the already existing monument for the US 7th AD

For those that want to know, the glaring difference between the SU-100 and SU-85 is the cupola on the right hand side of the upper hull. Then there's the occasional SU-85M but that's another story.

seems to be an M4A1(75) with no Direct Vision but small hatches, similar to the one located at Bayeux, in France.
Maurice Donckers told me that there were still several Sherman Fireflies on Dutch fire ranges, it would be really nice to get a set of photos like the one that has been published for the Groot Schietveld Range, Brasschaat (Belgium).

Staman International Trading what vehicles it have in it's collection ?

Walter made an visit at Staman 15-07-2010 and could have an walk around

He send me the picture's of it, again Walter thank you very very much

Here is an list of the stuf he has in storage, some of it is in reasonble condition and just needs restoration, other vehicle's need complete rebuild.

If something needs an complete rebuild, I put it in the description:

- Britsh Saracen APC,
- British Firefly Vc (no external fittings, no track)
- British Firefly Ic (hull, no external fittings, no tracks)
- British Firefly turret (not sure if it belonged to the hull)
- British Staghound Mk III, the one with crusader turret (barrel missing, all outside main automotive parts missing, inside ??)
- Staghound turret, this was modified for an fixed defence position. Most likely have been part of the IJssel defence line and fitted with an MG
- M3 light tank, at least 3 all from South America
- Humber armored car, former Dutch army
- OT-810
- M3 half track, at least 5 in various condition from just cleaning to wreckage
- M3 scout car
- British Abbot SPH, is the storage yard work horse
- AMX-13, at least 3 there
- SU-100, gate guard can be found in street view
- several artillery pieces
- several military vehicle's (CMP truck and a big British WW2 truck)
- a lot of other bits and pieces that is not recognizable

However the vehicle's that can be found on the website of Staman, are not among the picture's.
Also the storage locations that can be found at the website are not among the picture's, so there is more

Besides the storage, there is also an privately owned M4 Sherman completly restored
And there is an vehicle storage somewhere around Luxemburg, that holds other big armored MV's

So just an small collection

Michel

I couldn't have said it better Michel
About the M3 Stuart light tanks ,there were 4 of them
and the owner told me that he has 3 more storage locations at the same industrial area where this one is located.
So that could maybe the ones on the website

Small update about the Army Cars collection
I knew about some of the vehicle's already, however it's confirmed now

all most all big tracked AFV's have been sold, total of 14 vehicle's
They where all sold in 2 batches

Batch 1 was bought through an Dutch firm / collector and holds:
- Jagdpanzer Kanone JPz4-2
- Jagdpanzer Rakete Jaguar 2
- M48A5 Patton II medium gun tank
- 2x M88
- 3x M113 C&V former dutch army
- PRTL-CA1 Cheetah KU-80-09
- PT-76 ligth tank amphibious
- Pz68 MBT RN 77716
- last vehicle not known

Batch 2 is the M16 MGMC
This vehicle went to an Belgium collector, after removal of the 4x MG and replacing it with dummy items

Because of this sale there is almost nothing left at the museum to show

Michel

Because of my holiday, did some touring around an part of the country

I visited, amongst others, the Serman V (M4A4) Crab at Westkapelle

It is not going very good with the vehicle, the location by the sea is not very good for metal items
The hull and it's parts still look good because of the paint, however the tracks are not that good
If they don't get an good clean-up and paint job, they will fall off in an couple of years

I never noticed before, however at the second bogie at the left side the road wheels are different

And to make it more complicated these 2 wheels are also not the same

Michel
