fired up FSX - Ohare with a DC3 all sliders full right, everything maxed out 4-7 fps...

Then I installed acceleration pack which allows all four real cores to work its magic and it pegged and stayed at 20fps - not even OC-ing anything yet! Yeee haw!

To say I am happy is an understatement!!!

Post subject: Re: REALITY CHECK

Okay, I just want to share something about the LG1156 and LG1366 processors that a builder needs to know up front.

I knew core speed was critical to me and that I would run ONE video card, not two, so I went ahead with an LG1156 socket processor.

The LG1156 uses DUAL channel ram, the LG 1366 TRIPLE channel so if ram is a concern, use the LG1366.

Also, PCI-e bus lanes... the LG1156 gives you 16 lanes if use a single card but with two cards each card will SHARE the 16 lanes between them (8 lanes each).

If you are going to use 2 video cards use the LG1366 which will give each video card (two cards) the full 16 lanes.

Just an FYI.

If you are a Big Ram user or two video card kind of person, try the I7-920 or another of the LG1366 CPUs

I should add that I see a lot of new solid state drives that do not use SATA (I have Sat 6.0) but that use pci-e slots and the same would be true for their use too.

I would love to afford one (okay two) but so far very happy with my crucial 64 gig ssd... except its too small...
