Saw this on one of my modeling sites:

www.armorama.com/modul..._id=204419

Also T1 carriage SN 1 and a replacement recoil mechanism.

Anyone have a list of these in the US? I've never seen one, and only know of a handful, this one, one at Ft Sill, and another farther out west IIRC.

Thanks AJ! Looks like there are three in close proximity.

There's an error in your list: The Osgood gun is on Hwy 421, not 241.

the one in Madison is at the Vet cemetery at the old state hospital. It used to be at the Court House. I changed the 421,my fingers go a lot faster than my brain

Madison or Sellersburg? You can see one (a cannon of some type) in the Madison google image I liked. It's at a VFW.

hi Kurt, I think I see how this got confused, has the 4.5 been moved to the VFW in Madison? It was at the Vet cemetery and before that downtown by the courthouse. The other piece is in Sellersburg at a VFW or AL on New Albany Ave. 38° 24.089'N 85° 45.171'W

I can check on the Madison piece later on, its close to here

I have no idea of the history - I didn't know they existed until you posted!

You can see the Madison gun in Google:
maps.google.com/maps?q...47250&z=19

Now I see the one in Sellersburg on Streetview - thanks.

By the way, the eight 4.5 inch guns at Fort Sill are out at Aiming Circle Hill near the "High Rise" buildings. They are not at the museum site.

They have been used for years to train young artillerymen how to lay (survey) in a battery with an aiming circle.

These guns are all now named for junior Field Artillery Officers killed in service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

4.5in Gun, M1 Madison IN 1942 Veteran Cemetery
4.5in Gun, M1 Sellersburg IN 1942 VFW
4.5in Gun, M1 Osgood IN Hwy 421 OM
