I know this is an old thread, but that top right hand picture caught my eye. The hull has the double towing/lifting lugs like the M103 and is missing the normal lifting lugs of the M48. Is it possible they put an M60A2 turret on an M103 hull?

I'm not sure if Don (Dontos) comes by here much any more. Many of us have moved to Facebook Where I created and help admin a group called "WWII- Cold War Armor" It very much follows what we used to find here. It is a very civilized group and we have over 500 members now. I'll ping him and see if he checks in here to answer but looking at the old thread I'm pretty sure it is an M48A1 hull. I am pretty sure the M-103 had a largere turret ring so putting an 'A2' turret on it would be difficult.

I always assumed the turret ring was bigger on the T43/M103 but consulting Hunnicutt the book says it had a diameter of 85” just like the M48.
