Siskens' "Rainy Day People" P-2 Neptune was the typical delivery system for ADSID's (though F-4's and helicopters were also used when air environment was threatening). RC-121's flew orbits looking for the signals indicating activation (occasionally some other types, including a failed system using unmanned Beach Bonanza's or something). ADSIDS could be found all over the countryside in the border region, usually just the vegetation-looking antenna sticking up, and perhaps a bit of the body itself. | |

I think the Connie is one of the best looking aircraft of its era. But SEA camo is just WRONG on that plane. (I know it is technically correct, but it is WRONG ) Solid midnight blue, gray and white, or a good airline paint job is what the airframe deserves | |
