Hello all, I first bought FSX and FS2004 a long way back but soon lost interest when I discovered that my PC wasn't up to the job of running them very well at the time. I managed OK with 2004 to some degree but FSX was a nightmare so I gave up on both.
Since those days I've been fortunate enough to build a machine that can now run FSX pretty well so I thought I'd install and try it/them again, everything is pretty new to me so I'm learning the ropes now for pretty much the first time on most things.

Nice to have you among us! Many (including me) will say why not have both sims installed as they get along quite well and each has their advantages. However if you're just starting out on your trek to become a flight sim junkie I'm sure one sim is enough for you for now. If you get any screen shots you're proud of, feel free to submit 'em to the 'member screenshots' section on the left over there so we can assign it to the daily roster!

Didn't you have a guide somewhere on better configuration of p.c.'s to run FSX?

No I did a comprehensive one for CFS3 and also tested/posted many individual tweaks back in the early days when the sim came out and there was an abundance of misinformation about what tweaks worked and what didn't, but didn't put together an all-encompassing guide for FSX, a that's been done a few times over by other folks at this point
