Neil: M56 Question
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

On page 231 of the Register is the following entry at Danville:

M56 Scorpion USA ind “Frankenstein;” Painted RN 12J225

I have a March 1972 Photo from the Patton Museum and in the photo, beside the newly arrived M50A1 Ontos, is an M56 which has an RN 12J225.

Could this be the same vehicle??

Dunno. I dont have any further background on the vehicle

Its not listed in the TACOM Central Registry, which could mean it wasnt loaned to the AAF Tank Museum. Could just be that they saw the paint job in a photo like yours? Dunno...
