ROPKEY ARMOR MUSUEM, CRAWFORDVILLE, IN PAGE 2
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Thats a sharp Kawi 2-stroke. I love the old 2-stroke street bikes to include the old Suzuki's. I see your 1973 has a steering damper as well. Those bike had a notorious "death wobble" sometimes at speed. Do you still have this bike? I went to the local Yamaha dealer yesterday to get my son some oil for his 1979 Yamaha GT 80 which he plans on showing at Ft Hoods bike show 28 October in the pre-1985 class. While walking around we spotted this 2002 Suzuki 1500 painted up in military colors. I fell in love with it and wished it was for sale. The black portions looked to be "Rhino-lined", as in the pick-up truck bed liner. It has Ft Hood post stickers but I've never seen it running around post. Yeah, its not armor but it is unique and military in appearance. This DG needs a forum for gear heads. Officers Club has become a gossip column so I don't post there much anymore. Even my son has quit posting there because they don't discuss aircraft anymore, sad.

hi jeff
the bike should be sitting in my garage, i bought it new in '73, i traded the 350SL for it. Its always been a rider so its not perfect, but it runs great has around 20,000 miles on it and i will probably have it when i die...I'm in Maine today hope to post some pics when i get home.

Dad of Doug in Foggia, 1945 on the original item, sans Thompson for this pic. I've got one of the group with their armored car, too. Need to scan that one. Don't even recall the type of vehicle it is.
