The Patton Museum: Transformation
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: The Patton Museum: Transformation
A few notes & Photos from a visit yesterday:

The museum is open with a core of displays, the future will see a gradual increase of vehicle displays as well as additional displays to highlight the new focus of the Patton Museum.

This is the former Interwar / WWI display gallery, empty now, but is in the early stages of a complete reconstruction:


The former WWII Gallery, will also be totally reconstructed:


Still present, is the StuG III which was recovered from a BOG. It will be highlighted in a future display:



A few interesting detail photos to compare to the now departed StuG III:

21 April 2011:

Today the Patton Museum received two 'new' collection pieces.

1 ea - M47
1 ea - M113

These were transferred from the 100th Div in Louisville. I'll try to do a drive by tomorrow and get SN data and photos.
