Test vehicles at Ft Bliss, May 2012
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Test vehicles at Ft Bliss, May 2012

Hi Folks!

The follow four pictures are copied from a Defense Update e-mail and their story on the Army's test for a new Infantry carrier done at Ft. Bliss during May 2012.

The M2A3 Bradley was used as a base line vehicle for the test.
The turretliss Bradley is BSA's vehicle. It has room for complete squad of Infantrymen unlike the the M-2 which only has room for a fire team.

This is a CV9035 with a very interesting camo job for the desert. Even with a turret it has room for an Infantry squad.

A line of up three of the four test vehicles. How many know what that far vehicle is? I AM talking about the far AFV, not the van sticking out from behind the building.

Here is the far test vehicle in the above photo.

The fourth test vehicle was a M-1126 Stryker with bar armor.

I had heard these vehicles were here at Ft. Bliss and found the motor pool where most of them were parked. Due to a chain link fence and distance I was not able to get good pictures of them.

The Namer was not out in the open with the other vehicles. The word was the owners wanted to keep it inside so no one would see it. I guess they didn't know the PIO office would release pictures of it.

Spot Report!

Roy:

The last vehicle in the line is the Namer.

Allons!

Roy,
I'm posting the Stryker from Aberdeen last December, it's already in my photo gallery here. Is that the fourth test vehicle? Rick

Yes, a M-1126 ICV with bar armor.

Hi Buq-Bug (Mark)! Hi Folks!

I was trying to get folks to focus on that last AFV.

Something that most of us would be very surpised to see in the USA. I was driving up and down all the streets next to all the non-unit motor pools and never found it.

... I think it is a German Marder APC. Compare the pic here.

Greetings
