A little Tanker Humor
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

There is a city up ahead, you want to go in on your own?

Given that we get it's humor....

It's all fun until the tankers turn to a pink mist because they are unaccompanied by infantry.

You guys are hard on an old tanker. Didn't know we had a lot of infantry types here. I am a firm believer in "Combined Arms" You all have a nice day.

Bialy, that is a great shot of that wheeled "Maxim". Battle is the mother of invention!

I believe back in the closing days of WWII the saying was "Bypass, haul ass and yell for the infantry".

I think I'd just as soon have a little infantry around:

That sort of thing might sting a bit...

I don't know the story, or what others are seeing, but what I'm getting is the chucking of two grenades down the barrel of what my brain tells me has to be an unmanned tank (or incapacitated crew/tank) with an open breech through which the second grenade reaches onboard ammo.

Could this be hastily staged using a recently abandoned and/or inoperative vehicle for an improvised photo op? Just guessing.

It would be more fun to pick on the US Air Force.

Hey I can't speak for officers but The Air Force had the smartest enlisted troops in the DoD and I could prove it!

We used to fuel the plane, strap the pilot in, salute and send him out to fight. Then we would go to the air conditioned (or heated depending on the season) snack bar and wait for them to come back!
