The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. Dear Sirs,
now I got the news that Czech Military Museum is looking for original diesel engine Saurer CT1D. I have a question, it is in Switzerland or elsewhere to buy?

There are different Saurer Groups on Facebook. You'd better ask there. It is an ordinary truck engine. Source

Thanks for the suggestion. The Czech Facebook I have a bad experience. Perhaps the Swiss firm Saurer fans are friendly.

I'm now back home and could check my documents:

Chassis no 21 = M+7571
M+ numbers were later changed from M+78900 to 78923. Unfortunately, I don't have the conversion table.

Hope that helps...
Chris

@JiriTintera: Still looking for information about the Mg used in the Praga? Try the online shop at www.armeemuseum.ch and look for the manual 65.54d "Das 7,5mm Panzer-Maschinengewehr 1931 Anleitung für Waffenmechaniker gültig ab 1.2.1963". Don't know, how the 1931 and 1938 models differ... Costs CHF 25 plus shipping. I got one from there...

Greetings
Chris

Dear friend,
Thanks for the information.

This is a pity because this manual describes the French machine gun of the Reibel system (Pzw.MG 1931), which was part of the delivery of tank AMX-13 (Leichte Panzer 51).

I'm looking for a Swiss conversion of MG 1911 to Pzw.MG 1938.
Allegedly does not mach FLAB Doppel MG 1938.

Post subject: Chassis-Numbers

... does anyone have the chassis numbers of the surviving LTL-H? So far I have:

M+7522 Schaffhausen: No 6
M+7561 Burgdof: No 17
M-78587 Lesany: No 21

Thank you for your help.
Chris

Chris, do own a copy of "Export light tanks Praga (Pzw 39. Lt-40)" by Vladimír Francev ISBN 978-80-86524-14-6? It's a great reference.

The book contains a table with the following numbers:

- Platoon 1:
M+7511 No 1
M+7512 No 2
M+7513 No 3
M+7514 No 4

- Platoon 2:
M+7521 No 5
M+7522 No 6
M+7523 No 7
M+7524 No 8

- Platoon 4:
M+7541 No 9
M+7542 No 10
M+7543 No 11
M+7544 No 12

- Platoon 5:
M+7551 No 13
M+7552 No 14
M+7553 No 15
M+7554 No 16

- Platoon 6:
M+7561 No 17
M+7562 No 18
M+7563 No 19
M+7564 No 20

- Platoon 7:
M+7571 No 21
M+7572 No 22
M+7573 No 23
M+7574 No 24

... thank you Massimo. I've got that magazine too. The chassis numbers are also found here: forum.valka.cz/topic/v...CZK-Pzw-39

I'm particularly interested in the chassis numbers of the surviving Praga, beceause it looks, two of them have the same chassis number.

Thanks
Chris

I think we have enough friends in Full to get access to the tank interior. How urgent is this?

... no worries Massimo. I've just been inside the Full-Praga a few weeks ago. Didn't find a manufacturer plate. A good informed friend just told me, that the one in Full is made out of different Praga tanks, was a former target tank.

You'll find the chassis number outside on the front hull, right side, on the thop of the vertical plate.

Greetings
Chris

... it looks like Full has Chassis number 11, but one of the Pragas in Bure (right one) also has no 11.

The Praga in Speyer has chassis no 18, like the one in Thun in the Polygon area.

Any ideas on that matter?

Thanks
Chris

I think it would be important to understand if those numbers were read out of the manufacturer plate or some marking on the hull plate.

I am afraid I can't help on the serials. Yet I would like to be sure about how many Pragas are still in Thun. My understanding is there is one in the outdoor Panzermuseum:
preservedtanks.com/Pro...iqueID=813

And another, in running order, indoor as part of the Sammlung Historische Panzer collection:
preservedtanks.com/Pro...iqueID=825

The one that used to be a gate-guardian next to the footbal field went first to Burgdorf, then to Lesany:
preservedtanks.com/Pro...queID=1211

To which one are you referring as "in the polygon area"?

Polygon = outdoor Panzermuseum

You're correct, only 2 Pragas left in Thun.
