Has anyone ever seen a utility that would let you simply load and view an FS9 aircraft/vehicle outside of FS9 itself? And stuff?

Like, if you wanted to see it and rotate it around with the mouse and stuff, like how you can in the FS9 "load aircraft" screen in windowed mode. And stuff. And maybe select different variations and textures and stuff.

I thought I had seen something that maybe mighta done that sonewhere and the benefit would be for repainting and stuff, where you could avoid the longer load times of FS9 and just get a quick n'dirty view of how the thing is coming along. And, of course, stuff. Becuase you know by the time you're done with a repaint you've loaded and then exted out of FS9 about like a zillion billion times and stuff.

Sound familiar-like to anyone at all? Know of anything? Seen or heard of anything like this? Is it unlikely to think something like this may exist?

I know what you mean, with tinkering around on the texture stuff it's the same ordeal, alltough with tinkering around with aircraft it's slightly easyer, when you want to check out changes to your paint job, just select another aircraft to load and then re-select the aircraft you're working on. At least that's how I do it to indeed forecome that you have to start and shut off fs9 a zillion times Laughing

But at the end of the day, such a "tool" would indeed be a blessing.

Sorry to "necro-post," but what you're looking for is called FSRepaint by Abacus. The no-frames product page is www.abacuspub.com/fsd/...g/s531.htm - there's a demo download at the bottom.

EDIT: Fled, an easier way to refresh the paint is to go back into the aircraft selection menu and just click the OK button - FS will reload it from the HD.
