Post subject: VC v 2D panels

I use Track IR in the VC and the beta drivers seem to have the best implementation so far.. however great precision is needed to hold your head still and possibly zoom in with + & - keys then attempt to move the mouse over the clickable switches...

Most Graphic cards nowadays have two outputs so with a bit of experimentation I tried having the VC on my main screen and I arranged a selection of the 2D panels on a secondary 19" display.. giving me easy clickability.

having tried this in FS9 I was expecting a silmilarly large frame hit... NOPE the second display had zero impact on FPS so long as I stuck to the 2D panels.. trying to display a secondary "spot " view brought the rig to its knees.

Try using a second screen for the panels and VC for main display.. possibly the best of both (sim) worlds at no performance cost.

Have fun

Sly

Good information thanks Sly! I also fly with trackir, to be honest I don't think I can fly without it anymore, but anyways I have been using the A key while in the VC. Makes the panels nice and big and nice and big is a good thing with these old eyes Smile

Yep TrackIR is a now a must have for me too.. just gotta rearrange my desk and drop the second screen (2D panels) under the main displayso its more like an instrument panel.
