To add to this, this cfg is setup for VFR flying, so for the slower prop aircraft, if you want to use it for Jets than you could suffer from some bluries

Also NOT UNIMPORTANT is WHAT system you have, this works on my system but that's NO GARANTEE that it will work on yours.

Above settings work perfectly with the CC envipack AND the VOZ pack, don't know of other "enhancing" proggies that are out there for sale !

Also these settings where tinkered out with the unselfish help from John M, George, JayKae, and Mozz from the VOZ team fella's

now what do I have for a system, not the smoking last rocket it's 3,5 years old and only upgraded the Vidcard.

specs:
ASUS P4C800deluxe
P4 2,8 800MHz FSB HT (running as 3,08 and HT disabled)
EVGA nVidia 7600 GS 256mB res. 1600x1200x32
2 G RAM 4x512mB (swap file set at 4096 = 2x RAM)
2x80G HD's Maxtor 7,200rpm in RAID 0 (striping mode)
Creative Soundblaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum
Sony HMD-420 19" CRT monitor

250 G external drive with USB for backup and saving d/l's etc etc

I do NOT know if this settings will work with ATI cards, sorry Sad

But you could use it as a base to start from.

have fun dudes !

Hi Slow,

not much to share on the fsX side, have plain stock install and I'm not doing much with it, I'm even contemplating to shelf it for the time beeing as to when I get a faster rig that can run it properly Rolling Eyes
That probably will happen 3/4 of this year or maybe even later as the hardware get's up to par to be able to run it properly Laughing

If you're doing low and slow VFR stuff you might want to lower your max_unlimited_vis

I usually keep mine around 36210. This suits average Oz conditions.

Hey Fled,

I saved my cfg file so NP, but after using your cfg settings I lost my cockpit (not vc) and I can no longer call up my GPS, radios, etc...

This was flying the FlightOne C172 so I dunno if its unique to that plane.

I really liked the settings (but I changed distance to 80 miles as I like to see Mt Ranier from Olympia) -

any idears?

thanks!
Slow

Slow,

did you use the nVidia tooly to set the display parameters for fs9 ??

With that you can set prefference vidcard settings for multiple games there is a list in there that if you would have that installed, oh boy you'd be glued to the screen 24 hrs a day 365 days a year and so on Laughing

the only setting I tweaked via the nVidia Control panel

right click your desktop, select nVidia Controlpanel

select 3d settings
adapt image with example
now there you have 3 choices
select/tick use advanced 3d settings, next to it is a shortcut go there

then a new menu shows up with 2 tabs
the first one is for normal puter use no need to fumble with those
go to the second tab
it's called program settings
scroll through that list and select ms fs 2004

now under in the screen appears a default list for that particular program
the first on the list Anisotropic filtering set that to max = 16x

then scroll further down and select Interference settings set that to 8xS

then hit the apply button at the base

set your desktop to 1600 x 1200 x 32 resolution

start up fs9 go to settings and go to hardware

Now you will be able to select screen res and thus adapt your screen to your liking for fs9 from the settings menu in fs9

start with for example 1280x960 and increase it step by step, when you do that you'll expirience that the screen goes black on you and you'll hear some clicking (CRT monitor) it's just setting itself so nothing to worry.

you'll notice that as higher the resolution goes the lower the screen frequencies and you'll notice by dropping fps

Also switch to full screen to test this, when it holds up in full screen then in windowed mode it will rock

I use 1600x 1200 res for single play and when in online multiplayer, depending on the connection I can switch back to a lower resolution on the fly without needing to leave the game and keeping a decent frame rate.

oh and last but not least, just set max framerate at 20 more than enough you'll notice and also saves much needed resources for fs9.
I have the drivers 93.71 installed

Hope it helps and looking forward to hear your results and in case off we can get together on TS and I'll walk/talk ya through it Wink

Slowy, goto hardware management and "delete"the vidcards, restart the puter and it will tell ya that it discovered new hardware tell it to NOT install anything !

then get the nVidia drivers ( not shure 93.71 is the latest) and then install the whole thing, also make shure you get the download woth tthe control panel included !

hope it helps
