For the older rockers from the best decade of mankind...the 70's...Brad Delp , the lead singer from the group " Boston " died Friday. So many wonderful memories, wonderful times, when everyone were so happy and smiling , hope you are smoking a joint in heaven......

He can't have been very old.

I went to see them at the Rainbow Theatre London in around 78/79 just after "Don't Look Back" had come out. They were just starting to get airplay over here so not many people had heard of them, or the two albums which went ballistic here shortly after. Maybe a thousand people in the audience... maybe even less.
I still rate it as one of the best gigs I have ever been to.

Their live sound was exactly the same as their album sound. The mix and performance was perfect throughout the evening. Sometimes you might get a band who perform a couple of songs close to the recorded version but Boston were superb musicians and, even in their field, stood out amongst their peers. It's particularly unusual to get a live vocal performance so close to the original recordings.

I spent years waiting for more material but everything they did after didn't seem to reach the heights of the first two albums.

An amazing time, and I'm desparately sorry to hear Brad is no longer with us. A very under-rated singer, who never really got the recognition he should have. Possibly because the rest of his band were so good as well. Tragic. I hope he passed comfortably.

Boston's first album was an instant classic,no synthisizers just straite forward rockin music that really had a large influence,a favorite pastime was playing air drums trying to nail that that first line when Forplay gives way to Longtime,some great memories.Thank you and Salute Brad.I shall have a toast in your honour @ 420 today. One of those groups whose sound was so unique you remember where you were the first time you heard them. For me it was driving in my new ford torino out "shining" (at night for squirrels for some stew) with a buddy (who actually shot a hole in the passenger door panel of my new car that night LOL)...

May God have mercy on his soul.... (Brad I mean)
