TARKUS (On Topic but by a S-T-R-E-T-C-H of the Imagination)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Any of you old Rock & Rollers remember the Emerson, Lake & Palmer album "TARKUS"? I wonder if there is a story behind the armadillo? I've been thinking (uh-oh) of using it for an avatar. Maybe change my name to "MarkusTarkus! Cool

lol man i used to follow these guys around in the early 70s, maybe this pic is of some use ......


Tarkus is erupted from a volcano, half armadillo and half tank - a machine of destruction. He goes about killing all other machines of destruction until a manticore convinces him that he, too (Tarkus), is a machine of destruction, whereupon he walks into the water and kills himself.
