Scenes around Ft. Knox - pics #3 (including XM 800)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

On the south side of Brooks Field along 6th Avenue we find:

Godman Army Airfield as seen from the west. My unit formed up here in 1967: 3rd & 7th Squadrons, 17th Air Cavalry.

Vietnam-type training area.

Thanks, Roy; much appreciated. Neil Baumgardner got a much better (glare-less) pic of the vehicle's information plate which he posted on the other thread. An interesting vehicle!

This M60A1 is located in front of the HQ building for the 1st Armor Training Brigade/46th AG Battalion, Neil. Dontos could give you the exact location. Sorry, no SN.......alas. Sad Don could provide that as well.

At the Copple Center, okay I've got that one - its SN 9349 in my records (way too short to be an RN). There's also an M59 APC there right?

And sorry, no such luck with all these pics Don! Wink
