Guntrucks in Iraq
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi all don't really know much more about this than the title '"Gun Trucks der US Army im Irak-Tankograd 3002" and that it has 60 + pages here is a picture of the cover But thought some of the group might be interested. Jeff Lewis

My favourite Iraq gun truck was a derelict M113 bolted to the frame of a 2-axle tractor truck. It was reported to have been built in Kuwait from prepositioned stocks. Saw the story once, and never again.

Highly recommended, I have it in my library, there is also a new one out dedicated exclusively to Armoured HEMTTs. The M113/M8something combo was the so-called "Alabama Slammer", which got nixed by the brass, IIRC- they never completed it AFAIK, I've got the photos as well, and it was a 6x6, not a 4x4. Jens O.

Gotta admit, that is one cool looking Gun Truck! (Just ignore the gaping hole in the glacis plate where the truck firewall fits.)
