Ft. Snelling Military Museum - Pics #7
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Thanks again, Bob,

another set of spectacular photos, and finally the M41, which seems to hold a special place in many curmudgeon's hearts.

You're more than welcome, Jens; glad you enjoyed them. Razz

Bob's models aren't too shabby, either, but he's a modest man. He also works miracles on Franklin Mint M4s...

Now, how would you know about that, Jens? Wink

The same way I would.... Wink

Yeah, you don't even know half of it, Mr Lurker...

We should officially rechristen him Bob Pan (oder Peter Steinbrunn): "I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere..." Laughing

Hi Jens! Hi Folks!

- Jens_O_Mehner
- Roy_A_Lingle

I would post the AFV photos but I have never figured out how to copy or save a picture that is part of an Adobe document. Sad

Unless you have the full version of Acrobat, you can make a screenshot with the print button, paste into your favorite picture software, trim, save as .jpg et voilá- pictures.

Give me the issues your models are in and I'll see what I can come up with.

Thanks Jens! Give me a little time to see if I can do it myself. If not, I will work up a list of which Glues my kits are in.

Why is the name Gustav Hebrok so familiar? Apart from him, there are a few other well-known modelers in El Paso- must be some kind of magnet... Wink

You know Gustav? As for well-known modelers in El Paso, well it's the great sunny weather we have lot of out here in far west Texas!

Hi Bob! Hi Folks!

- A-109E

Jens offers excellent advice on converting photos, Roy. Here's what I did:
1. Open up "The Glue" Adobe pdf document.
2. Left click on the photo I want in order to highlight it.
3. Right click to 'copy image'.
4. Open up Microsoft Office Picture Manager, paste the photo here to edit it.
5. Save the image to the desktop. (It'll be in bitmap format)
6. Open the bitmap image on the desktop, right click and select 'edit'. This opens the bitmap in Microsoft Paint program. In the 'file' pull-down menu select 'save as', then select 'jpeg'.
7. You're done!

Super! That's what this old man needs! Detailed instructions on how to get around these dumb computers!
Thanks!

Well,

more of him, I just wonder where the name always cropped up- what are his main interests in regards to modelling?

He is into 1:1 flight crewmen equipment. He has a complete Soviet pilot suit along with an ejection seat.

Models: 1/48 (I think) aircraft. He has a collection of the different aircraft the Thunderbirds used over the years.

He has a car kit that is outstanding! It's an old rusted junker setting under leafless tree on circler base that he has won a number of awards for.

I think the last Glue has a picture of the kit at the model show.
