Cool

It will be over the news all over later on, but today the Airbus A380 has made it's maiden flight. judging by the TV images the take-off was smooth and it seems that the 4 hour testride went down like a dream as well , that's at least the comments so far.

when more intell is gathered in form of streaming vid or whatever other related stuff I'll post it up here.

info site with latest news on the A380 => www.airbus.com/A380/se...isite.aspx

I wonder of what the fuel consumption rate on that beast is...

Personally, as one who travels a lot, I dread to be arriving behind these behemoths when clearing passport control and customs. I doubt many of the destination airports have given this matter a lot of thought....

Exactly what I thought too....man I'd hate to see (and smell) the terminal gate that's gonna hold all the passengers waiting to board this bird....and you'd betterget tto the airport at least THREE hours early now if you're gonna fly on this thing!

And unboarding - oh man yeah that's gonna be a big flush of people coming through! Hope you can access the lavs while you're waiting to get outta that can...

I get to the airport 3 hours early for an hour flight to Vegas on a 737 Laughing
Those Airport bars and their $6 beers love me.

Well it looks exotic but luckily I'll never have to be in position to fly on one. Never thought about it but Ascout's right. When de-boarding I get irritated waiting for the bonehead who cramed his dishwasher in the overhead bin to get out of my way.

Those are some nice cabin shots.. but that is what they did when they introduced the 747 wasnt it? I predict that they will make it very flashy now so the public will fly on it, and once it is accepted, it will become crammed with cattle class seats... to get the most people on..... Neutral

I get to the airport 1 hour early becuase I love drama and stress

Although none of my flying is international like Ascout's, I commute on MD-80's and 737's mostly. LOVE regional jets and twin turboprops, gimme those short trips!

757's are the sweet though!!! Love 'em....big, solid, stable, comfy.

My one flight on a 747 is just like you say, Mustang. Matter of fact it was a window seat near the gearwell or some damn thing, because there was this lump on the side of the interior that took up half the room where my legs were supposed to be. Spent the whole 3 or 4 hours crammed next to a guy eating candy bars.

Well hey at least it wasnt on an Airbus 300. I read a detailed accident report on AA#587 a while back and although this is a nice plane I'm real happy to be travelling on other birds!

I've flown with that same guy! In fact, he's on every flight...

yeah,,,,,,nice sales pitch pictures there for sure,,,,,but for most of the airliners who purchase these things are gonna cram as many seats into them as they can to accomodate the price tag,,,,,this is one nasty beyatch that'll take awhile to pay fer itself.....

..I wonder when one is gonna come up for download on FS9 though,,,,,,see how many low inverts she can take before an overstress.... Twisted Evil
