Some of the very nicest R/C model tanks come from VS Tank, a manufacturer located in China. These 1/24 models are highly-detailed, accurate, well-finished, and mechanically & electronically reliable.

Currently there are four series for most of their various tank models:
1. Static display model.
2. R/C, which shoots an airsoft pellet.
3. R/C, with an infared system to allow combat between similarly equipped vehicles.
4. R/C, Sparkling, which has an orange LED in the muzzle brake. Firing the 8.8cm gun causes a bright flash from the front and sides of the muzzle brake, a loud "crack" from the sound board which sounds just like an 88 (or so I'm told) , the barrel recoils a scale distance, and the vehicle lurches aft a short distance. I have an early production Tiger I which compares very favo(u)rably with the drawings, photos, and specs in the various Tiger I books by Speilberger and those by Jentz. The tracks on the Tiger I are a hard, durable plastic with individual track links which operate authentically and appear just like the 1:1 tracks. They sag the proper amount when at rest, and have a certain amount of clatter when in motion. Highly recommended.

If you expect to engage in lengthy "road marches", it's suggested you equip your vehicle and transmitter with rechargeable AA size batteries rather than disposable ones. All 14 of them. It's much less expensive than buying new batteries after each "engagement". Mr. Green

Those series 3 and 4 sound like a lot of fun!

That particular Tiger looks spookily like the wire-remote-controlled Tiger I mentioned above. It's not been run in about 20 years, and now just sits in a display with a handful of other models from my youth.
