unofficial release - T-34/85 Register book part 1 - Europe
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

http://the.shadock.free.fr/Surviving_T-34.85_Register_Europe.pdf

Finally I was not able to wait any longer.
I got a DVD from Rafal Bialecki this week, with new registers to publish.
I was willing to check this PDF myself before releasing it, but once released, some new vehicles will be for sure added.

That's why I "unofficially" release it here and now.
Please let me know if some vehicles are missing.

This file doesn't includes all the countries in Europe. There will be another PDF file with Poland, Belarus and Ukraine, because they have a lot of T-34/85s there.

On this particular PDF file, Rafal Bialecki deserves 99% of the job.
My 1% was when I put this on my website Mr. Green

There is only one entry for the Kružlová (Slovakia)area.
I believe there are 6 or 7 T-34 there, seems it was a fierce fight over there (place is called Death valley).
The best picture I could find

Hi folks

is this one in the file?
I check it twice and could not find it
Placed at Kezmarok in Slovakia

www.ww2museums.com/art...zmarok.htm

I also found this one, it looks like some in the file with the pedestal and the angle of the gun
However I think it is a new one
It is at Vyšný Komárnik in Slovakia

www.ww2museums.com/art...5-Tank.htm

Also on page 69 of the file there is an T-34/85 at an unknown location, this is the one

www.ww2museums.com/art...Kemend.htm

When you want to check out some other's
If you follow the link below it will get you to the search results of the T-34 at the WW2museums website
Most of the result are in Poland, maybe it could be used for part 2 of the T-34/85 register

www.ww2museums.com/cou...ion=search

This link will also bring you to this one result

www.ww2museums.com/art...-Death.htm

It has some close-up picture's of the T-34 at the Death valley of the post of Tichenor

@ Michel: ''It is at Vyšný Komárnik in Slovakia''.
Probably the one mentioned at Dukla Pass which is a little north of the town mentioned above.

Boys, do still think it's a good idea to fit all those tanks plus pictures in just one single PDF?

Maybe you should consider a different format, like the one for the "country registers", with all the info but only a link to online pictures (if any).

I personally prefer a country register, or even better an European register, a register for the Americas, Asia etc. But that's just me.. Wink Otherwise when I go to Germany for some tank hunting I need several registers, for each tank type one. But again, that's what I prefer.

I am not talking about splitting the registers or not, I am referring to the format that include one picture for each tank inside the PDF. In my opinion it doesn't scale well for such a large amount of vehicles. This firt attempt is already 86 pages long...

As for tank hunting, I know, the PDFs grouped by type don't work well for that purpose, in that case you need grouping by country/location. The solution would be to migrate to a database-driven website, with the ability to group/sort either by type, country or location... One day we will get there, I promise, just don't ask me when Rolling Eyes

Massimo, thats just what I'm trying to do with the afvregister, however there still has a lot of work to be done (to much work, to little time).
