unofficial release - T-34/85 Register book part 1 - Europe
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Well Michel,
The first 5200+ tanks I have already in an access database, so when you know how to fit that in a website Razz

Lesley

Maybe we should compare our databases, I use MySql, but conversion is posibly from every database.

Likewise I use SQL Server. I imagine it would be a lot of work to share the data.

Not necessery, just needs some programming and a little preparation. Working with different databases isn't that hard, you just have to be carefull.
I'm having some time now, so if there is any intrest, I would be happy to take that task on me.

Massimo, thats just what I'm trying to do with the afvregister, however there still has a lot of work to be done (to much work, to little time).

I know, I visit it. From what I can see from the outside I notice two main issues:

1) You are trying to use an existing application that wasn't designed for this scope. Seems like you are "bending it backwards" here and there Laughing Especially around the search (a critical feature in my opinion)

2) The site is down pretty often with My SQL errors Crying or Very sad

It's not just the differences among RDMS, but also different database schemas that make things tricky.

I wish I have the time to help on this, but it's not going to happens before next spring Confused

Only the layout was used, the rest of the application was build from the ground up.

Seems like you are "bending it backwards" here and there

Confused I'm affraid I cant follow you here ??

The site is down pretty often with My SQL errors

The problem is the membershipprovider, it was part of the assignment to use it, but it gives me more trouble than I would like. Its going to be out of the application by the next upload.

In this case please ignore my "bending it backwards" comments
