Surviving LVT-2 ?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

There is one other LVT2 at the World War II and Korea LVT Museum in Camp Pendleton, CA.

I would say that the one on Utah beach would now be 90% a reproduction.

I saw them there a few years ago. They were in such a state of degradation due to weather that one of the two had been scrapped as it was more than lace.
The second is still on site but in very poor shape. Its shape is actually much similar to those wrecks on the Pacifc islands. Nothing much interesting to see unfortunately...

it was removed from the Utah Beach museum few yearq ago and it is being restored in Carentan. As said before, it is now 90% a reproduction, since very few parts of the original item were able to be saved.

You have to wonder if there are any other LVT-2 or LVT-4s buried in the mud of the Maas River or various other waterways in the Netherlands? Or maybe in the Rhine?
